As a bonus, they cost well under US$100
Motorola Verve Buds 400 is no stranger to the true wireless earbud craze. The company introduced the Motorola Lifestyle coming with Verve Buds 400 almost 2 years ago and followed with the Verve Buds 500 in 2018. However, even with that experience, Motorola hasn't really seemed to hit its stride.
There are always issues holding the products back from making the leap. Motorola has perfected its over-ear noise-canceling headphones in next-generation and now it's leveraging some of that sound technology to improve its true wireless buds.
Enter the Verve Buds 500, Motorola's best true-wireless product and a new contender for the top spot. Overall, the Verve Buds 400/500 checks nearly every box in terms of sound quality. This is exactly the style that can get compressed to a boring mess in some earbuds. Bass-heavy genres sound superb with the Verve Buds 400/500 too. The low-end tone is big and boomy, but it's never too much. This means the pounding heavy metal drums.
Pros:
#More affordable than most true wireless earbuds
#Excellent sound quality
#Full-featured companion app
#Great battery life
Cons:
#No on-board volume controls
#Slightly awkward fit and look
Motorola’s latest true wireless earbuds are its best so far. The Verve Buds 500 covers all the bases with ambient sound and active noise cancellation, and that’s on top of audio profiles and a custom EQ inside its headphones app. For under US$100, these are one hell of a deal.
